National competition Bourgas and the sea"2006, under the patronage of Bourgas Mayor Yoan Kostadiov.
Тhe free spirit, the artistic atmosphere and the creative energy of Bourgas, which distinguish the town among others, are a contribution of its prominent artists in the past and the present but also of its thousands of citizens.
"This is my life my strange and only verbal scenery" whore the great Bourgas poet Christo Fotev. The contact with the sea, the well-known scent of salt and seaweed, the quietness of the small and neat streets, the silver colour of the fresh caught fish and the dynamic rhythm of the contemporary town have born many pieces of art, which are the pride of the citizens of the town and its cultural institutions. Тhe Art Gallery and the Museum of Bourgas preserve the culture and the achievements of many generations. Тhe archaeological department of the Museum was founded back in the year 1925. The Drama Theatre "Adriana Budevska" has formed stages in the development of Bulgarian theatre, the Opera and the Philharmonic Society, the Puppet Theatre, the Folklore Ensemble "Strandja", the popular Music Band "Hot Sand". The Choir "Rodna Pesen" and other represent the variety of cultural institutions and the richness of the cultural offer in Bourgas. The traditional cultural events in Bourgas are widely and internationally popular: Тhe International Folklore Festival, the National competition of Popular songs "Bourgas and the Sea", the Musical Festival "Emil Chakarov", the National Competition of Children"s Songs "Sladkopojna Chuchuliga" and many other.
"Bourgas and the Sea" Gathers Bulgarian Stars
The 21st competition "Bourgas and the Sea" will be held on Friday and Saturday in the Summer Theatre in Bourgas. Some 12 songs compete for the prizes. Well-known singers, such as Tony Dimitrova, Vanya Kostova, Neli Rangelova and Vassil Petrov joined the young talents. Composer Toncho Rousev will chair the jury. The audience will also single out a favourite song. The songs with best arrangement and text will be awarded. "Signal", "Diana express" and Bourgas performer Plamen Stavrev will perform concerts. The contest is held under the auspices of the mayor of Bourgas. The Ministry of Culture, the Bulgarian National Radio and bTV are co-organizers. 12-year-old Krassimira Kraleva is the youngest participant in this year"s edition of "Bourgas and the Sea". That competition marks the beginning of the traditional national week of the sea. The annual exhibition of Bourgas painters titled "Sea", the ballet performance "A Night in Paris" and "Mrs. Elemental Calamity" theatre performance as well as many other sports events are part of the program.
