65-годишнината на Победата във Великата отечествена война 1941-1945гг, Bourgas, Burgas
65 years separate us from
those May days when resolved last bursts of the worst and bloodiest war
in human history. Immortal exploits of the
victors, who defended freedom and independence of their homeland,
liberated his native land from foreign invasion, brought freedom to
enslaved peoples of Europe.
Second World War claimed
the lives of at least 5.3 million Ukrainians, ie every sixth resident
died at that slaughterhouse in Ukraine. More 2.3 million
Ukrainians were sent to forced labor in Germany. Totally or partially
destroyed over 7 thousand cities and towns and 28 thousand villages,
resulting in about 10 mln.dushi remained homeless.
Since the war has caused
more damage to Ukraine than in any other country in Europe, economic
losses have reached staggering scale. Completely or partially
demolished more than 16 thousand industrial enterprises, this is more
than 40 per cent percent of the overall economy of the republic.
Ukraine, its economic
potential, human resources, special hopes were assigned by both
belligerents. This line determines its
extremely bitter nature of the hostilities in the republic. Over 40 months - from 22
June 1941 until the end of Oct. 1944 dd., Ukraine was the epicenter of
the war - its territory, and the whole southern part of the
Soviet-German front provozhdaha always active hostilities. It is held the greater
part of a broader operation that ultimately decide the fate of the
entire war. In 1941-1944 here focused
fundamental forces of the Wehrmacht - 57.1% to 76.7% of the total
number of divisions. It is important to note
that 607 of them were destroyed to say on this front, while 176 enemy
divisions suffered defeat on other fronts.
Front of 15 Red Army more
than half of generals and marshals are of Ukrainian origin. During the war 11.5000
soldiers were awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union, of which -
2069 Ukrainian ie one in five. 104 twice Hero of the
Soviet Union 29 were Ukrainians. Among the three, awarded
the title three times Hero of the Soviet Union is our countryman Ivan
Kozhedub.
Winston Churchill said:
"Among all nations who were victims of Germany, Ukraine affected most.
But along with it the cost of millions of its representatives made a
huge contribution to defeating it."
We all bow our heads to
the cherished memory of the fallen in the struggle for honor and freedom
of their homeland, all innocent victims of life ceased to war.
Eternal glory to all who
found their death in front of partisan detachments in hitlerovski
torture chambers and death camps, died of wounds, disease, hunger and
suffering!
