In
Burgas held a workshop entitled "Management - social inclusion,
participation and empowerment at the level of cities - Regions",
organized by the local municipal administration.
The event is part of the project to join forces. Metropolitan Governance and Competitiveness of European cities, which is funded under a program for urban development URBACT II.
Within
the forum to discuss the conflicting points in the accelerated
development of modern cities, and various measures to cope with
opposition from ethnic, gender, age rule, which causes urban sprawl.
Convinced
that the traditional methods and policies today do not provide
effective solutions, project partners seek new ways to tackle problems
within the theme of the seminar.
At
today's meeting was attended by representatives of local, regional
authorities and organizations, representatives of cities - partners in
the project: Burgas, Lille - France, Eindhoven - Netherlands, Brussels
- Belgium, Florence - Italy, Seville - Spain, Brno - Republic, Krakow
-- Poland.
The
hosts of the seminar were presented by Deputy Mayors of the
Municipality of Burgas Atanaska Nikolova and Yordanka Ananiev, Deputy
Regional Governor Zlatina Dukov Ombudsman Tanio Atanassov, municipal
experts from the line "Integration" and "social activities" and
"Education, representatives of NGO sector.
The project partners are quite different in size and location. Although these are common and identified several priority areas for group collaboration:
* Strategic Planning
* Mobility and Transport
* Solving problems with the environment, such as air pollution, waste disposal, water supply and others.
* Development of Knowledge Economy (creativity, research and education)
* Enhancing the attractiveness and competitiveness
* Social inclusion, participation, empowerment
* New mechanisms of government (public-public and public-private partnerships).
