Европейската комисия започва наказателна процедура срещу България заради Пирин, Странджа и Иракли , Bourgas, Burgas
Coalition of 30 NGOs and civil society groups for the Nature in
Bulgaria supports the initiatives of European Commission infringement
procedures against Bulgaria over four separate cases of lack of
adequate protection of the natural heritage of the country.
Three of the warnings relate to protected areas, and the fourth
concerns the legislation. Pirin mountain areas include the construction
of the ski center there, Tsarevo municipality and Spa Bulgaria and
construction activities around the river Vaya zone in Irakli-Emine, the
Black Sea. The fourth warning is related to the lack of full compliance
with European requirements of Bulgarian legislation on nature
protection.
We have opened two other criminal procedures against Bulgaria for
the European ecological network Natura 2000. One is incomplete because
of the Natura 2000 network under the Birds Directive, namely the
truncated protected areas in Rila, Pirin and Central Balkan Ruse Lom,
cape and Iraq. The second is due to the lack of protection of the
protected zone established for vetroparkove cape and golf courses.
It is possible that the European Commission to launch infringement
procedures against Bulgaria because of harming the Vitosha mountain and
the area around the Seven Rila Lakes in Rila Panichishte.
Environmentalists repeatedly turned attention to the previous
Bulgarian government for infringements committed in - in theory - the
protected natural areas of the country. The protected nature of
Bulgaria is currently being guarded by the Bulgarian and European
legislation. Because of the lack of government response coalition "For
the Nature in Bulgaria send multiple signals and complaints to the
European Commission.
Environmentalists hope the current Bulgarian government to solve
problems with the protection of Bulgarian nature, before it comes to
action against Bulgaria in the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg,
whose possible sanctions will be paid by the taxpayer's pocket
Bulgarian.
