Burgas Plaza, the first shopping mall in Burgas, starts operations on April 23, 2009. Many leading international retailers will open their stores in the shopping centre. Some of them will enter the country through their shops in the mall.
Burgas Plaza spreads over an area of 52,000 sq. m., its built-up area totals 39,000 sq. m.. The two-floor building hosts over 90 shops with shopping space of 26,000 sq. m., restaurants and cafeterias and open-air parking lot with 1,270 places. The mall is located in the northern part of the city – Transportna blvd., close to the highway from Sofia. The investor in the shopping centre is Burgas Plaza AD (Gort Holding and Bridgecorp), the investment exceeds 60 mln. euro. Arch. Ilian Iliev (Planning studio) developed the architecture project, the key constructor is ATEngineering, SAVANT is project manager, Colliers International Bulgaria is exclusive consultant.
Burgas Plaza will host the first hypermarket of the biggest retail group in Europe and the second-largest retail group in the world, Carrefour. The retail store will start operations on March 26. Burgas Plaza is the first shopping mall with an open-air parking, situated on the top of the hypermarket.
German perfumery Douglas will have its first store in Bulgaria in the shopping centre. U.S. chain of coffee shops Starbucks, British Costa Coffee, KFC, McDonald’s and Fancy restaurant will also operate in the shopping mall. Other key tenants in Burgas Plaza Mall include fashion brands New Yorker, Marks&Spencer, Kenvelo, Benetton, Esprit, Mango, Terra Nova, Sport Depot and Intersport; Europe’s largest footwear retailer Deichmann; German’s dm; as well as Domo.
