Most successful branch association in Bulgaria 2007: Mr. Iliyan Ivanov, President and Mrs. Anastasiya Panayotova, Vice President, The National Hospitality Management Club with Mr. Bojidar Bojinov, President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry
The National Hospitality Management Club was established by owners and general managers of hotels and restaurants from all over Bulgaria in 2003. Among the founders were leading hotels and hospitality related companies such as The Sheraton Sofia Hotel Balkan, The Radisson SAS Hotel Sofia, TourMarketing, Ltd, etc. Gradually it became the leading Bulgarian national association of hoteliers and restaurateurs.
All active hospitality industry related legal entities are eligible for membership in the organisation. Students who study tourism and hospitality management may be accepted as members as well. The association welcomes hospitality supplier companies from around the world as its associate members.
Presently the National Hospitality Management Club has an overall of 274 members.
The National Hospitality Management Club has been found with the aim to protect the interests, to help with the professional development and to create business networks among its members. Some of its main goals are:
· То improve the management skills of the Bulgarian hoteliers and restaurateurs;
· To improve the motivation among the managerial and line-level staff throughout the country;
· To improve the skills of the line-level staff in the sector.
From January 1, 2007, the National Hospitality Management Club joined the international family of the national hotel and restaurant associations - the International Hotel and Restaurant Association, based in Geneva. Officially recognised by the United Nations, IH&RA monitors and lobbies all international agencies on behalf of this industry, estimated to comprise 300,000 hotels and 8 million restaurants, employ 60 million people and contribute 950 billion US dollars annually to the global economy.
All Bulgarian hotels which are members of the Hospitality Club enjoy the benefit of a dual membership - at the Hospitality Club and at the International Hotel and Restaurant Association.
After the successful organisation and implementation of two official business delegations of Bulgarian hoteliers to the USA, the National Hospitality Management Club was invited and joined the American Hotel and Lodging Association. AH&LA is the world"s largest organization representing the lodging industry. Founded in 1910, today AH&LA has a total of 10 000 members with 1.4 million guestrooms.
The Hospitality Club, as a national business assocociation, is a member of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. BCCI is the largest employer organisation in Bulgaria. Its president, Mr. Iliyan Ivanov is a member of its Board of Directors.
